Welcome to Ears to Hear- a new Canadian Prophetic Newsletter -the cooperative effort of City Prayer Leaders from across Canada and the Canadian Prophetic Council. In Ears to Hear we will be sharing key words and prayer direction we we are hearing the Lord speak to us on a monthly basis. Ears to Hear is a forum for these words, filled with encouragement, vision, and revelation of God's heart for the nation of Canada.
But even more- Ears to Hear is a call to focus intercession with unity and fervency in the prayer direction the Lord is revealing to the Church in Canada. It's about us together discerning the burden of the Lord and awakening intercession like never before. Of course there will be other key forums that the Lord will speak through, and we honour these, but in this hour as the army is being awakened- Every trumpet blast is needed!!!

The Day Hamilton Changed the World... by Daina Doucet
150 years ago revival broke out and swept the world. Hamilton, Ontario, played a significant role in what eventually became known as the Third Great Awakening. History books only briefly examine it, and Hamilton's official history makes little mention of it. There are no statues, plaques or historic markers, but Hamilton, Ontario, played a central role in world-changing events of the mid-1800s. Few realize that what happened there 150 years ago had a major influence on such significant historic events as:
a cessation of crime in Ireland and Wales;
the rehabilitation of more than 1,000 prostitutes in London, England;
recognition of women's rights;
a powerful call for the abolishment of slavery in the American South;
improved laws in many nations to assist and care for the poor, the oppressed, and the outcast;
the founding of the YMCA;
the founding of the Salvation Army.
These events all hearken back to a short, but intense, three-year revival of faith in God. Beginning in Hamilton in October 1857, revival rapidly spread to New York City, and then throughout the United States, Great Britain, South Africa and other nations around the globe.
City Prayer Leaders are the leaders are recognised by the Ministerial, or Pastoral Leadership teams of our cities. They come from many streams but are all in the trenches serving their city and building unity. From coast to coast, from cities large and small, many have been connecting and sharing together. Out of these times we give you the most prevalent prayer direction we are hearing the Lord repeat across Canada.
1. Government- This month it is critical we pray for our federal government, as the annual throne speech is given. With our current minority government, this speech could trigger a fall election. Pray for God's perfect timing for the next election so that nothing will undermine or hinder the increase of righteousness in our government.
2. Spirit of Revival: Cry out for the Lord to pour out on the nation- a true Spirit of Revival. Pray that we are awakened to the fire of God, a love of holiness, and a passion for the lost. Pray for a fresh revelation of heaven and hell, the power of the cross and the fear of the Lord to sweep the Canadian Church.
3. Holy Roots: In many places in Canada the Lord is reminding us of holy roots in history that are still influencing our land. It is time for us to pray for these living roots to spring up and for "our father's wells" to be re-dug. Especially pray for Hamilton as they celebrate the revival that began 150 years ago.
4. Children: This year has seen an overt attack on children in an unprecedented way by a spirit of witchcraft. Pray as we approach Halloween, for the nation's children to be protected, but also call forth young evangelists, and prophetic evangelists to draw many into the kingdom! Fight for this youngest generation!
5. Wisdom: Intercede for the Church to be filled with a spirit of wisdom and revelation. Cry out that we would be like a corporate Solomon to bring wisdom from above into naturally impossible situations. Also pray that we would have the wisdom of living in the fear of the Lord and that our lifestyles, our words, our priorities and actions all reflect Him.
6. Doers of the Word: Contend in prayer for the Canadian Church to be free from the passivity that has long kept us inactive. Pray for the bold faith to arise and walk out everything the Lord asks us to do. Cry out that we become a nation of doers, not just hearers of the word of God!
