Quebec City is 400 years old this year. 400 years is a significant prophetic time frame, as it was 400 years that Israel spent in Egypt. It was also 400 years of silence before John the Baptist burst onto the scene to prepare the way for the Lord.
Did you know that John the Baptist is the patron saint of Quebec, the original name of PEI, and St John(s) are key cities in both New Brunswick and Newfoundland?

The Spirit of John the Baptist in Quebec.

In the midst of this national uprising of Nazirites, a unique "breed" of Nazirites will emerge from Quebec. God has spoken this to Elizabeth, my wife, and me in a particularly personal way in recent months.
Six years ago, the Lord told us that we would have a son and that we should name him John. It has also frequently been prophesied over Elizabeth that she bears the seed of John the Baptist within her, the spirit of a forerunner. Since then, we have been given three beautiful daughters. But in March 2007, the Lord impressed strongly upon Elizabeth that it was time for John. She knew in her spirit that the Lord was speaking at two levels: firstly, that it was time for the spirit of John the Baptist (a Nazirite from birth) to be birthed in the nation (and most particularly in Quebec) and, secondly, that as a sign of this she was to conceive the son, John, whom He had promised us six years earlier.
At the time God spoke to Elizabeth, however, we were in transition and under a lot of pressure. Our third daughter was not yet two and pregnancy seemed inconvenient if not utterly unwise. Yet despite our efforts to postpone God's will, Elizabeth conceived in May and is now 33 weeks pregnant--with a boy. Elizabeth is bearing John.
City Prayer Leaders are the leaders are recognised by the Ministerial, or Pastoral Leadership teams of our cities.
They come from many streams but are all in the trenches serving their city and building unity. From coast to coast, from cities large and small, many have been connecting and sharing together. Out of these times we give you the most prevalent prayer direction we are hearing the Lord repeat across Canada.
1. Quebec: Call upon the Lord for a great move of the Spirit to be released in Quebec. Speak to every place of barrenness and call forth the life of God! Let us contend as a nation for the spirit of John the Baptist to be poured out in Quebec, the forerunning anointing with fasting and prayer, repentance, and the power of the Kingdom of God. Believe that the 400 years are over and a new prophetic voice will now emerge! Cry out for full-blown revival -especially among the next generation.
2. Houses of Prayer: Many houses of prayer are springing up in centres all over Canada-contend for more! May there be houses of prayer in every major city and town, even on all the university campuses of our land. Pray for the leadership of these ministries, that great wisdom and grace would be given to steward and stoke the fires. Pray that each house of prayer would know the anointing of prophetic and apostolic intercession to birth a greater shift into Canada's destiny. Pray for supernatural endurance to be given to the intercessors of the nation in this hour as we seek to rise higher.
3. First Peoples: Let justice roll down! Pray that the First Peoples be granted freedom, healing and justice in the spirit, and in the natural where this is needed. Pray for signs and wonders, power encounters that cause the kingdom of darkness to tremble. Shake off all unbelief and despair that would want to hinder us as we rise up to fight for our precious brothers & sisters. Let us also lift up the key 1st Peoples leaders, pray for their protection, for ongoing grace, provision and blessing.
4. Abundance: Seek the Lord for the release of resources and blessings that have been withheld or stolen from the body of Christ. Pray for a new mindset of faith and bold vision to advance forcefully the Kingdom. Let the spirit of the world and the love of money not taint a new breakthrough into abundance, but let there be deep consecration of all that God entrusts us with - for the sake of the Kingdom.
5. Government: Lift up the government of Canada, as well as the provincial governmental leaders in this time. Cry out for righteous laws to be written and passed and for the politicians that are fighting for these in key positions of influence. Pray for all our governmental leaders, that their minds would be influenced by God's desires for Canada, and that all ungodly influences and alliances would be fall away. Let us not become lax in our intercession because we have seen some victories, we must pursue, capture and recover all! (I Sam 30:8)
6. Gates: Speak to the gates of society to open before the advancing Church. Pray for an increased influence in media, in law, in education, and in business for the body of Christ. Pray for those called into strategic roles of authority, that they would be men and women full of the love of God and like Daniel living in Babylon- living a life above reproach.
Israel-60 years old this year!
The current state of Israel was established 60 years ago, in 1948. Join in the celebrations to bless Israel this year as we continue to pray for the peace of Jerusalem.

Latter Rain Revival
Also 60 years ago,in February, a tremendous revival broke out in the town of North Battleford SK. This revival, many feel, is a significant part of the roots of many Charismatic streams. While it was not without difficulties; the blessing continues on today!
