REPORT FROM THE SOLEMN ASSEMBLY IN VOLTA REDONDA / Brazil 2009
November 21, 2009
God’s love for the world becomes more apparent to me every time I see Him at work in another city. This solemn assembly was a forerunner to a larger CALL event we want to do in Rio de Janeiro when the time is right. There were about 1,000-1500 people who came for the greater part of the day, and about 3,000 who came for the final 4 hours.
We started the solemn assembly in Volta Redonda, a city on one of the highest mountain peaks in Rio state with 3 Brazilians telling me about powerful dreams they had the night before. All of them were about a war between the generations. Gustavo Paiva, in particular, saw two circular tornados that were being torn apart and the father in one tornado calling out to the children who were caught up in the other tornado. Later in the day, during the section on generational reconciliation, there were literal moving circles of clouds above the church building. It was a sign in the heavens and many of the people in the church ran outside to watch the circles of moving clouds as the sight was so unusual.
The day got off to a slow start. It felt like we were not breaking through for the first couple of hours until Fernando, a pastor and worship leader, jumped out from behind his piano and began dancing wildly in worship. Then he ran to the drums and began to forcefully advance in the spirit through worship. Suddenly, the breakthrough came and young men ran to the front and began to do war dances. The whole room erupted and everyone was engaged in prayer for the rest of the day.
All agreed that the section on generational reconciliation, with repentance from pedophilia, was the highlight of the day. Gustavo Paiva shared how 30% of Brazilian children are sexually abused. A whole generation is being destroyed by pedophilia, which then breeds all sorts of other sexual immorality, including homosexuality. We moved into a powerful time of prayer. Kelry Green called all the children in the audience to come to the stage. I could hear the Lord give us a simple prayer to pray. He told us to ask Him to “stop it,” (ie: pray that God would stop this sin), but He said that He specifically wanted us to pray “Stop it!” as those are the words He hears children cry out while they are being abused. As the crowd began to call out in identificational prayer, “Stop it!” a deep healing presence of God filled the room. Almost everyone began to weep. The children and youth on the stage began to weep and groan and sob. Over and over again, we called out “stop it” and, for at least an hour, all the children and youth were on their faces shaking and sobbing. It was evident that many were being healed at that moment from sexual abuse, and others were being called by God to be part of a generation that will not tolerate Jezebel any more.
Later, when Kelry Green preached on the calling of the Nazarites, hundreds of young people came forward to separate themselves to God in the spirit of the Nazarites. A new wave of holiness is coming to the high places and a new generation is separating themselves in preparation.
The passion of the Brazilian church is going to produce a huge wave of global missions. Their understanding of deep worship and dance is their foundation. But houses of prayer need to be built now to prepare the way. I received this email from Fernando, upon my return to Canada,
“We´re still amazed by what God did last week, we just keep hearing of the visions and words the Lord shared during that time, and changes have already started to occur. I believe its a new day for Rio! "
I´m in a particular way very very happy but at the same time humbled and taken by the fear of the Lord as I was able to picture in a more detailed way the near future calling He has for me, and it´s so challenging! I´m already listening from Him that He wants more and more prayer meetings, 12 hour watches, the two remaining solemn assemblies we´re supposed to do in our region - in short, blow the trumpet to gather the passionate people of our region to worship, fast and pray until He comes with His Glory!!”
So we need house of prayer missionaries to go help them, if anyone feels the call. . . . In fact, in every city I went to in Brazil, leaders are getting a vision for the HOP, but need help to launch them. I told them I would put out the call for HOP missionaries who will give a year of their life to help plant HOPs in Brazil.
