Dear Friends of Global Harvest Ministries:
Last week we sent out a message from James Nesbit concerning the Heartland Mississippi River prayer project currently in progress. The response received by us was very heartwarming and many will be joining this special prayer effort. Thanks so much for jumping on board. I am sure God is pleased. Chuck told us on Monday that he joined the team and prayed over about 300 people in their sendoff, as they embarked on the project.
Many of us have often wished that we could be involved in some sort of special help for our Native American brothers and sisters. One has come to our attention by Jean Steffenson here in Colorado. For those of you who do not know Jean, she has worked closely with the Native American people group, especially with pastors and various reservations especially here in the West, and she is our principal apostolic bridge to Native Americans. Training is her specialty and she has worked diligently for several decades doing a bang-up job. Jean also heads up the Colorado Concert of Prayer, as well as the Native American Resource Network. She has led special prayer journeys and thrusts all over our state (which is a tough one, by the way!) A special worship seminar is coming right up led by our good friend Ray Hughes. Jean will be glad to give you more information about it if the theme is of interest to you. Her phone and email is below. We would like to open the door for some Native Americans from two reservations to attend and learn to worship well. Ray is outstanding in this field.
When Jean spoke with me last week, she mentioned that lightly used instruments (that people frequently have left over when they upgrade) would be acceptable as well. I am sure contributions toward an instrument would be gladly accepted if a donor could not afford to totally underwrite an instrument, but still wants to help these young people.
I encourage you to carefully read the brief letter below and to pray that these requests be met. Please help out if you are led by the Lord. I am writing this Tuesday evening and Peter and I have to get up about 3:30 a.m. to spend the rest of the week in Houston. I will be unavailable, so please contact Jean directly for this project. I know many of you will pray, as you always do, and hope some can scrape up instruments or offerings to help this project. As you can see we were given little lead time to pull this off, so could use a little miracle here as well!! Note that gifts are to be channeled through the Native American Resource Center, not Global Harvest Ministries.
God bless you, each and every one.
Sincerely,
Doris
