"...a great door for effective work
has opened to me..."
I Cor. 16:9

A great door for effective work - that is how the Apostle Paul refers to the activity o the Spirit and the intention of the Spirit over a city!!! The city was Ephesus. Ephesus was a centre for commerce. Ephesus was a centre where people converged...Ephesus was now marked by God to become the new epicentre for evangelism in the world of the Early Church!

It was to the word "great" that I was drawn today...It is easy to compare Toronto's potential with Ephesus! Paul held to an unwavering vision for Ephesus...a place where the supernatural was demonstrated in unprecedented ways. It was a place of great ingathering of souls. It was a place where even the economy was affected by the presence of the Gospel.

Indeed, it was a great door!

And, so is Toronto! Uniquely the Spirit took me to Acts 19:23-41. Paul used the word "great"...and perhaps he had read that from the Ephesus tourism brochure...because it was commonly known as an epicentre of a different kind for which the "fame" was: "GREAT is Artemis (Diana) of the Ephesians". So impacting was the Gospel to Ephesus that a riot occurred....For about two hours the city slogan became the riotous chant: "Great is Artemis of the Ephesians"!

What was their frenzied concern? What was the perceived threat? What was about to shift in the very identity and renown of the city? A Greater One had come to town! Artemis in all her renown was no match for the advance of the kingdom and Christ Jesus the Lord. Their fear that throughout the entire province of Asia and the world, Artemis would be robbed of her "divine majesty"was manifesting before their eyes...now even the economy was being affected!

So solidly into my spirit today came the revelation that the Lord who has marked Toronto is right now challenging the very renown of the city. All forces which have operated out of this "epicentre" are under threat because the GREATER ONE, Christ Jesus, is going to be revealed in a whole new way to Toronto...and through Toronto to the region...and to the nation...and to the world. Heaven's Rehearsal is yet another assault on the spiritual  status quo of the City! Like Paul who joined the "fore-runners", Aquila and Priscilla in the city, there is a merging of anointings; faithful men who have held to truth are about to have a fresh visitation of the Spirit; miracles are awaiting an hour of manifestation.

The local "Artemis" who was purported to have even "fallen from heaven" is about to be toppled by the One who came from heaven and has now returned and reigns from heaven...over Toronto and her potential as an epicentre of His power, Presence, and purposes! Indeed, a GREAT door is opening...!

This prophetic word was received by Peggy Kennedy August 8, 2007. On October 8, 2006, a first word of the triumphant intention of the Lord for Toronto was received and released! As "8" marks new beginnings, there are even fresh stirrings of the Spirit over the City. The hour of the Greater One for the Greater Toronto Area has come!
