The following vision occurred in the early morning during prayer, Sept 22, 2007.
I was standing on the street. About 50 yards ahead of me there was a cross street. Coming from about a block to my left down this cross street was a crowd of people. They were walking 6 abreast, in rows, straight up the cross street till they came to the street I was on. They then, in unison (each row as it came to the street), would turn to the right and come walking straight up the street toward me. There were hundreds in the group. I don’t know how many, but I’m sure more than a couple hundred passed me before I transitioned to a different part of the vision.
As each row passed me, I looked into their faces. There were young and old, men, women, boys, and girls. Some were as young as 5 or 6 years old. Others were middle aged and older. All age and ethnic groups, as well as much diversity seemed represented in this crowd of people. They did have, however, a few things in common. Although they were clearly organized, and seemed to be marching, they weren’t regimented or stiff. They were casual and relaxed in appearance. They were smiling, happy, and showed no tension. At the same time, it was clearly evident that they were purposeful in their attitude, and direction. As they passed me, I knew that each one was filled with compassion, and had souls uppermost on their mind. They did not slow down at all – ever – they just kept going at a pretty good pace. Yet they continued to look relaxed and casual and not at all tired or winded.
The Spirit of the Lord whispered into my heart, “This is what I want my church to look like.” At this point I transitioned into the last 2/3 of the vision, which is more local in nature, relating to London Ontario. So, I will leave that part off. I won’t comment on the various aspects of the vision. I’ll leave that to others to interpret as they will. I will comment that I was left with a very strong impression that the major move of God at this time relating to bringing in the harvest, will be on the streets, and in the everyday living out of the believers’ lives. Crusades, evangelistic efforts and such, will continue, and I speak nothing against them. But the heart of God is what it has always been.I will be their God. They will be my people. And I will dwell among them.” This eternal covenant that has rested always in the heart of God, is what creation longs to see and respond to.
